jollification

sounds like a made-up word but it ain't
noun: jolly merrymaking, jolly festivity
jolly - adj. in good spirits; gay; merry

jollification ...is ...a great word
[right up there with akimbo]

in that i am more smart than intellectualized (ww)
i have been known to make up words
like:

conflirtable
adj. being at ease with flirtation

flirting is great, i love it!!
fencing with double entendre, if you will
one can flirt to get laid
or one can flirt just to have fun

either way i always end up blushing
sokay
the "in flagrante delicto" turns my crank

in as much as i realize i uttered my opinion
quite strongly in my previous post;
[";" ...the semi-colon has always been a mystery to me]
i accept i'm just as fallible as the next joe
having said this, i always try to bare in mind:

the 3 levels of conversation

* people (gossip)
* events (current or personal)
* ideas

discussing current events and ideas requires knowledge
i have recently taken it apon myself to read the paper
and listen to other peeps opinions
tempering that with the adage
"just becuz you have an opinion, doesnt mean youre right"
jsyk
being a newbie to informed conversations,
i still generally just listen
unless of course
i'm drinking stongbow or wild vines [ww avdc]

as these 3 levels of conversation pertain to my behavior?
i hover in and about #2
and tend toward #3
however once in a blue moon
i am inhumane and stumble into #1

when that happens
i give mice elf shit
and try to do better next time

as these 3 levels pertain to other peeps,
and how i react to them?
it really depends on the amount of venom in their tone
some pass on crass jokes to facilitate acceptance
but others [those fucks i was talking about]
seem to get a perverse thrill
i have time for the first but none the second
...a quote from hoosiers:

"look, mister, there's... two kinds of dumb, uh... guy that gets naked and runs out in the snow and barks at the moon, and, uh, guy who does the same thing in my living room. first one don't matter, the second one you're kinda forced to deal with."

when elvis died i was only 17
[i remember working my shift at consumers distributing
when i heard the news]
he is absolutely the "king of rock 'n roll"

michael jackson
on the other, is my age, less than a year older than me
his death and tragic life
is much more part of my own
he is truly the "king of pop"
and has left an indelible impression on modern music
especially as it pertains to showmanship

you know what really pisses me off?
when common folk eat slop from the media's trough:
i dont really know who killed JFK
or marilyn monroe for that matter
[it is a real bummer, that they both died so young]
and i sure as hell dont give a shit whether OJ did it
but what i do know for sure, is that i do not know
exactly what went on in michael jackson's personal life
so i for one (among many) am not gonna pass judgement

he was obviously a very troubled man
and his family is going to miss him dearly
i think all those people who gladly pass along
crass MJ jokes (for example)
should consider how they would feel
if the brunt of their guffaw is a friend or relative

just as "if you dont have anything good to say
...dont say anything"
if you dont have all the facts
...keep your big fuckin mouth shut!!

as was pointed out today at his memmorial service
he made some bad choices in life
but it is just as possible that he acted inappropriately
with these child friends as it is that these kid's parents
jumped on the money train
either way i'm deeply grieved

anyhoo

i celebrate his music and good intentions
mourn the waste of his life
and ponder how easily things could have turned out better

now that its officially july 1st
(by bern's clock)

HAPPY CANADA, EH

my parents are dutch immigrants(??)
[after reading the difference between
immigrant and emigrant
...i'm still confused]
anyhoo
however i, being born in this country,
have a patriotic allegiance which is:

but come world cup

my libido ...i mean, my blood runs nederland orange

oh and by the way
...if yer not dutch, yer not much

this is where id love to be right now

and if i had my druthers
the image would be more like this:

i'm just saying...

"hey goose, you big stud!
...take me to bed, or lose me forever"

albeit not as famous as:
"too close for missiles, im switching to guns"
"i wont ...leave ...my wingman"
and "son, your ego's writing cheques
your body cant cash"

of course, i quote-speak of TOP GUN
(which is long before
to-big-for-his-britches scientology-boy
is redubbed "jumpsoncouch" ...by yours truly)

anyhoo

any self-respecting videophile [which i yam]
would have, for example, a widescreen version of top gun

however, there are certain movies that i love
but, do not add them to my collection
these gems are best when found during
a "remote flick"
...desparately trying to find the apt moment
the tv gods lay these jewels in my path

im talking the likes of:
RUDY
FERRIS BUELLERS DAY OFF
and DANCES WITH WOLVES
just to name an eclectic [{berns christmas}] few

[did i remember the poster correctly? ...ash]

finding such a movie on tv is liken
to discovering a crumpled up fiver in the shorts
i havent worn since the summer past

its really quite serendipitous
...really

my good fortune comes in small
bern-size measures
and for that i am thankful

[obscure reference alert]

last year, bern buys his first coleman lantern
and sparks it up with my bros and p2
